Life Story
Urvashi Rautela was born in Kotdwar, a small town in the Pauri Garhwal district of Indian state, Uttarakhand. She is an established Bollywood actor, model and beauty pageant enthusiast having won Miss Universe India 2012 and Miss Tourism Queen of the Year in 2011, which was held in China. She was also the winner of Miss Asian Super Model 2011 in South Korea. She shot to fame in late 2014 when she appeared in Yo Yo Honey Singh's music video Love Dose, which was followed by minor roles in both Bollywood and South Indian films until 2016, when she appeared as the supporting actress and lead actress in Sanam Re and Great Grand Masti respectively.
EARLY LIFE Urvashi was born in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, India to Manvar Singh and Meera Singh. Since childhood, she has been trained in five dance forms namely, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Belly Dance. In her school days, Urvashi was a national basketball player but gave up her sports career for modeling. She first walked the ramp at Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week and Lakme Fashion Week.
MOVIE CAREER
Urvashi debuted with the 2013 romantic comedy film Singh Saab The Great, co-starring Sunny Deol and Amrita Rao. Directed by Anil Sharma, the movie opened to positive reviews from the critics and audiences alike. After having a successful launch in Bollywood, She has also featured in Yo Yo Honey Singh's international video album "Lovedose" which released in October 2014. Urvashi made her Kannada film debut in Mr. Airavata in 2015. Directed and written by A.P. Arjun, the movie also starred Darshan and Prakash Raj in the lead.
In February 2016, she appeared in Divya Khosla Kumar's romantic-drama film Sanam Re. The movie, which along with her, also starred Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam, received mixed reviews at the box office. Urvashi's other release in the same year includes the adult comedy Great Grand Masti, opposite Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivdasani.
Outside of her film industry and modelling work, Urvashi runs a foundation along with her family called the 'Urvashi Rautela Foundation' to help empower the needs and rights of underprivileged people in India. She also actively supports PETA India and 'Save the Girl Child Camp'.
