Elle LaMont
Biography
Elle LaMont is a Texas filmmaker, with credits spanning film, television, voice over, music video, commercial and industrial work. She earned her first acting credit at the age of 12 as Mary Lennox in the China Spring Elementary performance of The Secret Garden. Elle continued acting and modeling while in school, and was offered her first feature role in 2004. Shortly after she switched her undergraduate focus from criminal psychology to acting, she booked a role as a Rally Girl for two seasons of the NBC series, Friday Night Lights.
Her next several projects received praise and dozens of awards on the festival circuit, including a Best Actress nomination and Best Ensemble Cast win, for her role as Chevine, in the 2011 hit, Strings. In 2014, she worked on another festival favorite, The Wisdom to Know the Difference, which would go on to garner Best Picture wins all over the US.
Elle was chosen as the first face of the El Rey Network. She then played opposite Sofia Vergara and Danny Trejo, as Dollface in Machete Kills (2013), which lead to an appearance in the music video for Lady Gaga's Aura. In 2014, she earned more television credits with a recurring role as Karina in From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, and as Ivy Monroe in the SyFy Original: Dead Still. 2017 brought her first major studio role as Screwhead in Alita: Battle Angel, a James Cameron/Robert Rodriguez collaboration.
Behind the scenes, Elle produced and 2nd unit directed Recess, which sold at the Festival de Cannes in 2011. She then produced Fingerguns: The Movie (2015) and Beyond Violet (2017). Between those two films she co-wrote a feature screenplay which was a selected finalist at the 2016 Austin Revolution Film Festival.
