Women Through Film, in collaboration with Sattar Buksh, brings the most exciting event of the Summer Calender: Our video-making workshop exclusively for young girls & women aims to facilitate females to learn short film, documentary, video-making and video-editing in most creative and engaging environment. Every Thursday and Sunday*: 5 pm - 7.30 pm.

Aims and Objectives

These interactive workshops that will cover both the theoretical and the practical aspects of film-making, will include a series of individual and group activities with the primary objective of making women aware about the impact storytelling plays in reshaping societal norms, and how they can be drivers of this change, while also be able to benefit from this skills set monetarily, should they decide to pursue film & documentary making as a career.

Outcome

Each participant will have the opportunity to film their own short script, and one chosen script will be worked upon in a group under the direction of the trainer. Upon completion, these projects will contribute to the next component of the Women Through Film initiative, that is the Pakistan first Women’s International Film Festival (WIFF) to be held next year. Not just this, but the participants will also have a platform wherefrom their final productions could be sent to more film festivals on both national and international levels.
