Description
The Uchao-o-Utchal festival, as difficult as it is to pronounce, is a colourful and distinct gala that takes place annually in the Kalash valleys of the Chitral district.
Kalasha People celebrate their annual harvesting festival in the month of August evey year which is called Uhal Festival. On this festival Kalasha people sing, dance and pay homage to the nature for it’s blessing with Wheat and Barley etc. On this amazing festival these people also prepare special foods, cheese, buttermilk and corn bread and much more and share and eat. During the festival prayers, a procession is made to a high plateau outside the village in Balangkuru where the long night of dancing begins.
