Description
Punjab Young Physicist's Tournament
The International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT), also referred to as "Physics World Cup" is a team-oriented scientific competition among teams of High school students (between 14-19 years). Each year 17 Physics problems are suggested by International Organizing Committee (IOC consists of 30 countries). Young Physicists belonging to all member countries present their solutions to scientific problems in a very innovative way called physics fight (PF). In a PF, there are three teams, each of which will assume one of three roles: the Reporter who presents their solution to a problem, the Opponent who challenges the Reporter to demonstrate their solution and the Reviewer who summarizes and evaluates the arguments from the other two sides. The fight proceeds as a round , with each team assuming all of the roles. The roles of Reporter (Presenter), Opponent and Reviewer are graded by a jury consisting of international experts. Problem number 2,7,8,10,14,15,16 have been selected for PuYPT'20 regional round. PYPT is the qualifying event for the selection of the team Pakistan to compete at the International Young Physicist's Tournament. Preliminary round of PYPT will be held on November,12-13, 2019 in which best teams will be selected. After regionals best five students will be selected as the TEAM PAKISTAN for International Young Physicist's Tournament'2020 which will be held in Romania.
