NAPA INTERNATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL
HEER by DHANAK ARTS

A retelling of the story of Heer Ranjha from the viewpoint of Heer, incorporating modern poetry as well as dance and music to retell the iconic love-tale from a feminist perspective.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS:
Bakhtawar Mazhar is a passionate and experienced theatre actress with a master'ss degree in communications and a three-year acting diploma from NAPA. She has acted in several theatre productions with renowned directors such as Zia Moheyuddin, Gregory Thomas, Rahat Kazmi, Khalid Ahmed and Zain Ahmed.

Zain Ahmed is currently the Artistic Director of the NAPA Repertory Theatre (NRT) at the National Academy of  Performing Arts  in Karachi. He is also the founder and director of the NAPA International Performing Arts Festival as well as other festivals including the Karachi Laughter Fest and the Young Directors Festival. He is currently also supervising a community dastangoi training project and a theatre training project in six universities in Karachi. 

Zain has been working as a director in the theatre and television for the last 20 years. His recent work on the stage includes Heer Ranjha, Raagni, Shakuntala, and Stumped.
