V.erna, one of the most anticipated Pakistani movies of 2017, has reportedly passed the Censor Board of Film Censors review. Mahira Khan’s fans can rejoice since Verna had been going through a controversy regarding the story of the film.
Verna, being directed by Shoaib Mansoor, had been previously banned by CBFC. It was however reported that the censor board had not given a final decision on it.

Shoaib Mansoor is a veteran of Pakistani entertainment industry. He found early success when he wrote and composed hugely popular “Dil Dil Pakistan”. After that, there was no stopping for him. From the sitcom “Fifty Fifty” to the military enthusiasts’ favourite “Alpha Bravo Charlie”, he delivered hit after hit each time. Shoaib debuted his career as a director with “Khuda Ke Liye” which was released all over Pakistan. His second film, “Bol” was released in 2011 which exceeded all expectations and was reported a huge success. “Verna” will be his third film and expectations have never been more higher. This time, Shoaib wants to bring violence, corruption and abuse of power under public spotlight through his film.
The story follows Mahira Khan as Sara fighting through a mess of love, power, emotions, betrayal and politics. Fans will see Mahira as a rape victim struggling to win her life back. Verna is a story of a survivor and a winner, a bold and strong willed woman who never quits and beats every challenge that comes in her path to get the justice she deserves. Mahira Khan playing the lead role in the movie is one of the most seasoned actresses in Pakistan. From TV serials such as Humsafar and Neeyat to movies like Bol, Bin Roye and Raees.
