Mariam El Bacha Makes it to The Top 50 Women In Global Cinema
The Celluloid Junkie, which is the leading online resource dedicated to the global film and cinema business announced the list of top 50 women in global cinema industry for the year of 2018. It released this list on the 8th of March on the account of Women’s Day celebration. This is the 3rd year of the top women in global cinema list and it highlights the major role played by female leaders and entrepreneurs in small and large cinema operations across the world.
Now here’s where we should boost about the women of our country as Mariam El Bacha, placed 5th of this long list of amazing women. Here’s the list:

While it is a proud moment for all of us, not just because the CEO of Pakistan’s largest franchise has made it to top 50 women in global cinema but also because the moment where a women of this land made history in Global cinema as an inspirational woman. Something that no man from this country ever did.
Mariam El Bacha, who is the chief executive officer of Cinepax, Pakistan, is considered as one of the most influential women in global cinema and ranks at number in this list. Before she became the CEO of Cinepax in Pakistan, Mariam El Bacha worked as the Director of Operations at Malaysia’s MBO cinemas. She has been amazingly managing the cinemas in our country where the industry had previously suffered from piracy, fundamentalism and terrorism. She’s worked to bring modern cinema back to Pakistan, how about that!
Mariam El Bacha is also an inspiring speaker at ineternational events, including Norway’s Film&Kino and CineAsia in the past year. She has worked for major cinema chains across four continents: South America, Europe, Australia and South-East Asia.
