Karachi Eat Festival a Hit or Slip! ?

karachi eat festival a hit or slip! ?

From last so many weeks we been hearing big talks about the happening of big food festival of year the ‘Karachi Eat Festival’. Karachi Eat is bringing together the city’s rich food diversity at Frere Hall. 10 days, 6 events: You wouldn’t want to miss this, Karachi. The 88 stalls hosted largely by local businesses, offering face painting, shirt printing, photo booths food of-course  as well as a juncture for open mic night.

This surely was one of those rare not-to-be-missed events in Karachi if you lives there or even visiting Karachi. The first day was a delightful celebration of food.  Partakers included corporate brands, top restaurants, celebrity chefs and home bakers. We joined the festivity around 6 pm on the first day after intelligences on Twitter than a fair number of the stalls were not up earlier in the day. By evening the event was in full punch, with adequately amount of visitors and a minor parking problems :P.

Oh the Tickets and passes issues for every event. But Hell yaa!! They were cheap! Yes you heard me right they were cheap at Rs200 each and well worth the price. Top of all my excitement raised to extreme after having a look at many of my favourite restaurants had stalls including Okra, Espresso, The Deli, Pantry and Village. Oh they were offering the best deals ever, a limited but delicious menu, with most items under Rs200, cherry on top. There were many other stalls that I was eager to try, offering everything from chapli kebab to Asian salads.

How can we forget the kids, as the festivals are majorly for kids only! They did sever them with entertainment area for younger kids including jumping castles, a trampoline, face painting and craft activities. Most of the home bakers and bakeries had brought freshly made goodies but the restaurant stalls featured live cooking on little gas burners. Every freshly cooked dish we tried was hot, well-seasoned and yummy.

Between us we managed to sample fresh sugarcane juice, beef hoagies, , cupcakes, freshly fried donuts, malai boti, penne pasta, fresh ravioli, sweet potato fries, paratha roll, bubble tea and of course noodles and hotdogs. And there were so many things we missed or didn’t have space for. The event continues today so do go, and make sure you take an appetite!

With their social media campaign, the festival has already made Karachi residents excited. The festival was well organized, with plentiful seating and umbrellas for shade, besides all this hype n good words, we defiantly happen to came across so many complains on social media regarding many issues related to festival.

Karachi Eat lasted for three days, providing some much-needed relief from the traumatic life of this bustling city. Although it started off as a food gala, this festival has now become a representation of Karachi. It serves to climax the need for revelling things that are woven into our cultural fabric. It also serves as a path for endorsing the city and its variety while giving its occupants a chance to come together and rejoice under one roof. So it’s all on us to decide it was a hit or miss! And should such events be organised in other part of Pakistan.
