Since then he has successfully carved a niche for himself, being voted ‘Best Director 2013’ in the Express Tribune awards. He gained recognition after his first play ‘Equus’ at the 2012 NAPA theatre festival, critically acclaimed for his experimental approach. In 2013, Sunil’s play ‘Mantorama’ was selected in the National School of Drama (NSD) festival in New Delhi, India. In 2014, Sunil starred in the famous sculptor, Amin Gulgee’s performance work ‘Where’s the Apple, Joshinder?’ This year he also worked under the direction of UK director, Gregory Thompson, in the Urdu adaptation of Shakespear’s Winter’s tale, a collaboration between NAPA and the British Council.
